Introduction
In this session, Lamentations 3: 21-40 shows that despite severe suffering, Jeremiah, the speaker, abruptly stops mourning and recalls God’s steadfast love, recognizing that while God causes grief, His deepest desire is compassion. This realization leads to patience and renewed faith

- Gather with two or more people for a community discovery bible study session.
- Start with a heartfelt prayer, inviting God to guide and bless your understanding.
- Explore the passage by reading it at least twice, using different Bible versions if available, then retell the story together as a group.
- Reflect and share the challenges and blessings you experienced from the previous study.
Comprehending
- Read Lamentations 3: 21-24. What “truth” about God does the speaker intentionally recall to prevent sinking into despair?
- Read Lamentations 3:23. What does it mean for God’s compassions to be “new every morning”? How have you experienced this in your own life?
- Read Lamentations 3:25-30, which talk about “quietly waiting” for the Lord’s salvation. Why is waiting so hard, and what does true, patient waiting look like in modern life? What is revealed in these verses?
- Read Lamentations 3:31-33. How do these verses change how you see God’s discipline and hardships?
- Read Lamentations 3:34-40. What do these verses reveal about God’s sovereignty?
