Introduction
In this session, we examine Nehemiah 6:1-9, focusing on the enemy’s increasing efforts to distract and intimidate Nehemiah as the Jerusalem walls near completion. Nehemiah recognized the deceitful invitations and remained steadfast in his God-appointed mission, responding with prayer. He showed how to stay focused and uphold integrity amidst intense external pressures. As the wall is nearly finished, with only the doors remaining to be hung, Nehemiah’s adversaries—Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem—see their military and ridicule tactics fail. They then alter their approach, launching a cunning campaign of deception, intimidation, and false accusations to undermine Nehemiah’s credibility and halt the work.
