Clean Garments for the High Priest
Introduction
In this session, we will examine the fourth vision Zechariah saw that night in Zechariah 3:1-10. It depicts Joshua the High Priest wearing filthy garments, standing before the angel of the Lord, with Satan standing at his right hand, accusing Joshua before God. This vision of Joshua the high priest symbolizes Jesus Christ the Branch, pointing to the fulfillment of the promise of his second coming
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Understood why Satan accused Joshua the high priest before God
- Appreciated that God defends his priests even when their garments are filthy
- Understood that this vision of Joshua the High Priest was a symbol of Jesus the Branch

Comprehending
- Read Zechariah 3: 1-3. List the personalities named here in these verses. Who is a high Priest? What is the work of a High Priest? What are the garments of the High Priest?
- Describe the vision of Joshua the High Priest in verses 1-3. What was Satan doing to Joshua? How do you defeat the accusation against Satan?
- Read Zechariah 3: 4-6. How did the lord restore Joshua the high priest?
- Read Zechariah 3: 7-10. What did the lord promise Joshua in the near future and distant future? What does it mean that Joshua was a symbol? Who is the ” My servant the Branch”
