The final announcements before the final bowl judgement
Revelation 14: 12-20
Audio Summary
Revelation 14:9-20
- Context:
- John’s vision in Revelation 14:9-20, during the tribulation, post-rapture, completes the six holy announcements, warning humanity of consequences and God’s final harvest before the bowl judgments.
- With the church raptured, God extends mercy through these announcements, urging tribulation dwellers to choose Him over the beast and avoid eternal judgment.
- Final Three Holy Announcements and Harvest (Revelation 14:9-20):
- A third angel warns that those who worship the beast or receive its mark will face God’s wrath, drinking the wine of His anger, tormented with fire and sulfur forever, with no rest, in the presence of angels and the Lamb (v. 9-11).
- A fourth announcement calls God’s people to endure persecution patiently, obeying His commands and maintaining faith; a heavenly voice declares, “Blessed are those who die in the Lord,” promising rest and reward for their deeds (v. 12-13).
- The fifth and sixth announcements depict the final harvest: the Son of Man, crowned, swings His sickle to harvest the righteous (wheat) into God’s barn, while another angel harvests the wicked (grapes) into the winepress of God’s wrath, producing a vast flow of blood (v. 14-20).
- Mercy is shown as God’s warnings aim to save souls, offering blessing to those who die faithful and a chance to repent before the harvest of judgment.
- Application:
- Reject the beast’s mark, enduring faithfully like those blessed in death; heed God’s call to repentance, choosing the righteous harvest of eternal life over the winepress of wrath.
