The final announcements before the final plagues
Revelation 14: 1-12
Audio Summary
- Context:
- John’s vision in Revelation 14:1-8, set during the tribulation, post-rapture, introduces the first three of six holy announcements, preparing humanity for the final bowl judgments by revealing God’s plan.
- The church is raptured, but God continues to call tribulation dwellers to repentance through divine messages, countering the evil trinity’s influence.
- First Three Holy Announcements (Revelation 14:1-8):
- The 144,000 Jewish evangelists, sealed in chapter 7, stand with the Lamb on Mount Zion, bearing God’s name, singing a new song before the throne, undefiled, blameless, and purchased as firstfruits for God, victorious in their mission (v. 1-5).
- An angel flies in midheaven, proclaiming the eternal gospel to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people, urging them to fear God, give Him glory, and worship the Creator, as His judgment hour has come (v. 6-7).
- A second angel announces the fall of Babylon the Great, the sinful world system that led nations into immorality, signaling its impending destruction and warning against its allure (v. 8).
- Mercy is evident as these announcements offer a final chance for repentance, revealing God’s desire to save even amidst judgment.
- Application:
- Follow the 144,000’s example of purity and devotion; heed the eternal gospel’s call to worship God alone, rejecting Babylon’s false system, and embrace Christ’s grace before judgment falls.
