Introduction
In this session, Daniel 2:1-13 will highlight the crisis and the human limitations in addressing the previous generation’s dreams. We will focus on understanding the difficult issues and dreams (crises) that NextGen is expected to address by leading their leaders. In 360-degree leadership, there are four categories, including leading self, leading followers, leading peers, and leading leaders. King Nebuchadnezzar is troubled by a dream and demands that his wise men not only interpret it but also tell him what he dreamed. When they confess their inability, the king orders the execution of all the wise men in Babylon, placing Daniel and his friends in immediate danger.

Group Study Time
Daniel 2: 1-13
Connecting

- Explore the passage by reading it at least twice, using different Bible versions if available, then retell the story together as a group.
- Reflect and share the challenges and blessings you experienced from the previous study.
Comprehending
- Read Daniel 2:1-3. What is revealed about King Nebuchadnezzar and his dream? Who are the magicians, astrologers, enchanters, and sorcerers?
- Read Acts 13:6-12. What do these verses reveal about politicians without God? What lessons do you learn?
- Read Daniel 2:2–9. What do these verses reveal about the crisis? Why do you think Nebuchadnezzar demanded both the dream and its interpretation from his magicians?
- Read Daniel 2:10–11. What does it say about human limitations for those serving politicians? The astrologers claimed that no one on earth could meet the king’s demand except the gods, “who do not live among humans.” As a NextGen or their mentors, discuss how the rest of the Bible counters this claim. What is the meaning of Emanuel?
- Read Daniel 2:12–13. How do you typically react when a sudden crisis or an “impossible” situation catches you off guard? Identify a crisis the NextGen find themselves in because of what their peers have done or have not done.
