Introduction
In this session, 1 Thess 1: 1-10, we will understand the three main marks, or characteristics of an enduring and overcoming Church during suffering and persecution, namely, faith (salvation), love (service), and hope (steadfastness). We will know how faith came to them and how it was manifested in the regions beyond
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Listed the three main marks, or characteristics of an enduring and overcoming Church during suffering and persecution.
- Appreciated the three qualities that make the suffering Church not have this love grow cold (Matt. 24: 12.. Because of the increase of evil, the love of many will grow cold.

- What is faith? How does faith come to you, Romans 10: 17? Discuss.
- Read 1 Thess 1:4- 10. List 5 truths about Thessalonians listed in these verses? What lessons have you learn that you can commit today and communicate to other believers?
- List two places where their faith came from? 1 Thess 1: 4-6;
- Where did their faith extend through this fellowship? 1 Thess 1: 7-10.

- List three lessons you have learnt as an agent of change that you would like to put into practice and teach others about.
