Introduction
In this session, Luke 20 41-27, Jesus the Messiah then turned the tables and tested them on their understanding of who the Messiah was; they failed the test. Jesus took the opportunity to rebuke these inspectors and warned the crowd and his disciples to be aware of the hypocrisy of the religious leaders
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Understood the right view of giving to the government of the day and the government of heaven.
- Understood the right view of marriage, now and in the age to come, by looking at the answers Jesus gave to the Sadducees.
- Reflected on the question, whose son is the messiah by choosing to sit at the right side, a place of honor, until He makes your enemies your footstool.

- Read Luke 20: 41-47. What do you understand by the phrase ‘Jesus was 100% God and 100% man in his earthly life’? Whose Son is Jesus the Messiah? Son of God or son of David or the son of man?
- What is sitting in the place of honor? What are the benefits of sitting in the place of honor? Luke 20: 42-43.
- What did Jesus warn about the religious leaders? Luke 20: 45-47. What are the dangers of submitting to the wrong authority?
