Introduction
This session, John 12:38-50 marks Jesus’s last public conversation with the Jewish travelers. Afterward, he focused his discussion on the 12 disciples as he mentored them to take over the ministry. Here, Jesus concludes the issue of whether to believe in him, which he began talking about in John 1 and which formed his theme throughout his public ministry. Those who believed were given the power to become children of God, John 1:12, and those who did not think would be judged by the truth Jesus had spoken John 12:48.
