Introduction
In this session, John 8: 1-27, we focus on the second self, the I AM claim, to travelers walking in darkness and in the valley of the shadow of death. We also uncover how the poison of religion caused the travelers not to believe Jesus as the light for their feet.
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Understood the principles of Jesus being the world’s light and to those who walk in the valley of the shadow of death.
- Warned that religion is the greatest hindrance to night traveler’s being lighted

- Read John 8: 12-20. What is the second Jesus’s I AM claim? List 5 truths revealed about Jesus’s self-identity of being the light of the world to the travelers. (What he meant? Where did he say it? Why did he say it? People’s reactions? Etc)
- Read John 8: 21-27. What was Jesus’s warning to the unbelieving people? Or Travellers? Write 3 truths Jesus revealed about himself.
- What is the meaning of ‘living in the valley of the shadow of death? What is the meaning of the word light? Or the light of the world?
