Paul Testifies that his Good News comes from Christ
Introduction
In this session Galatians chap 1: 12-24, we focus on understanding the principles of a testimony by looking at a case study of Paul. His testimony covered his life before he converted and after he had known Jesus personally. A testimony could reflect on six questions we need to answer in our temporal stay in the world as we engage the mission of God, our genesis, our destiny, our purpose, our identity, our potential, and our opposition. The study will guide us to confront the stronghold of another gospel made up of a false Jesus, false gospel, and false spirit.

Audio Summary
Galatians 1:12-24
Context
- Paul expresses amazement that the Galatian church is turning away from the true gospel to a false one, influenced by people causing confusion.
- The false gospel consists of three elements: a different Jesus, a different spirit, and a different gospel.
- To discern the true Jesus, consider if He is the one born of Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit in Bethlehem, who suffered under Pontius Pilate, died and resurrected on the third day, discipled for 40 days, ascended, sits at God’s right hand, will come as King, is Lord of lords and King of kings, and is God in human flesh.
- Paul defends that his gospel came directly from Jesus Christ, not from humans.
Paul’s Testimony and Calling (Galatians 1:12-24)
- Source of Gospel: The gospel received is not of human origin, not taught by humans, but came through a revelation from Jesus Christ.
- Past Life: Previously advanced in Judaism beyond peers, extremely zealous for ancestral traditions, and intensely persecuted the church, trying to destroy it.
- God’s Calling: God, who set apart from birth and called through grace, revealed His Son to preach Him among the Gentiles.
- Immediate Response: After the revelation, did not consult any human being or go to those who were apostles before, but went to Arabia and later returned to Damascus.
- Visit to Jerusalem: After three years, went to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter and stayed 15 days, seeing none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
- Assurance of Truth: Assures before God that what is written is no lie.
- Further Travels: Went to Syria and Cilicia, personally unknown to the churches in Judea that are in Christ.
- Report and Praise: The Judean churches heard the report that the former persecutor is now preaching the faith once tried to destroy, and they praised God because of this.
Application
- Recognize the power of personal testimony to affirm the truth of the gospel.
- Articulate how God has called personally so others know the message is true.
