Dealing with the unrepentant members
Introduction
In this session, 2 Corinthians chapter 13: 1-14, we will focus on understanding the dynamics of church repentance and holiness and how it affects your relationship with self, local Church members, your leaders, your relationship with the universal Church, and your relationship with the Holy Trinity.
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Understood the dynamics of repentance and holiness and how it affects your relationship with self, local Church members, your leaders, your relationship with the universal Church, and your relationship with the Holy Trinity.
- Appreciated the place of self-examination and test of faith before examining other people.

Group Study Time
2 Corinthians 13: 1-14
Connecting
- Gather with two or more people for a community discovery bible study session.
- Start with a heartfelt prayer, inviting God to guide and bless your understanding.
- Explore the passage by reading it at least twice, using different Bible versions if available, then retell the story together as a group.
- Reflect and share the challenges and blessings you experienced from the previous study.
Comprehending
- What is repentance? What should you do if a believer stubbornly refuses to repent?
- What was Paul’s message to some members of the Corinthian church that had refused to repent despite many warnings? 2 Corinthians 13: 1-2.
- Why had some church members refused to repent? 2 Corinthians 13:3-4
- What did Paul advise them to do? 2 Corinthians 13: 5-6,
- What was his prayer for them? 2 Corinthians 13:7-10
- Read 2 Corinthians 13: 11-14. What were his final greetings and benediction, which showed the relationship among themselves, between the Corinthian church and other saints, and their relationship with the Holy Trinity (God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit)
- What did you learn from the Church in Corinth that you can stop doing, or start doing or you can continue doing?
