Introduction
In this session, Ezekiel 20: 1-32, God’s refusal to be consulted by the elders of Israel is highlighted, citing Israel’s history of rebellion in Egypt and the wilderness. The elders of Israel come to sit before Ezekiel to inquire of the Lord, but God outright refuses to answer them because of their persistent heart idols. God recounts Israel’s long, stubborn history of choosing idols—beginning in Egypt, continuing through the wilderness, and persisting in the Promised Land— noting that He withheld His full wrath only for His name’s sake.
