Repentance from wrong personal choice and compromise
Introduction
In this session, Luke 15:11-32. We explore the father’s perceptions of possession, work, and relationships, and compare them with those of the sons. In the previous chapter, we saw two reasons why people leave the table of the lord: bad company, as told through the parable of the lost sheep, and the leaders’ carelessness, as told through the parable of the lost coin. This session will focus on the third and fourth reasons for leaving the father’s table: personal choice, as seen through the second-born prodigal lost son, and compromise, as seen through the first-born son, who represents the Israelites.
