Introduction
In this session, 2 Thessalonians chapter 3: 1-18, we will focus on understanding the place of work as a form of worship and prayer as a channel of Peace and Grace for both the persecuted church and their caregivers

By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Understood the place of PEACE and GRACE and PRAYER for the suffering believers waiting for God’s intervention.
- Discussed how persecuted believers should approach work as they wait for the Day of the LORD.

Connecting
- Gather with two or more people for a community discovery bible study session.
- Start with a heartfelt prayer, inviting God to guide and bless your understanding.
- Explore the passage by reading it at least twice, using different Bible versions if available, then retell the story together as a group.

- What is prayer? What kind of prayer would you ask your mentees (followers, children) to pray for you?
- Read 2 Thessalonians 3: 1-5. What specific things did Paul ask the persecuted Church to pray for him and for themselves?
- What is work? How is work a form of worship? How is working related to inheriting the rule of God (Kingdom of God) over evil? Discuss
- Read 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15. List 6 things Paul said about work and working, as the suffering believers waited on the Day of the LORD?
- How does peace and Grace sustain persecuted believers while waiting for the Day of the Lord? 2 Thessalonians 3: 16-18.

- Rule Given: “One unwilling to work shall not eat”; heard some idle, busybodies not working.
- Command to Work: Such people: settle, earn own food; don’t weary doing good.
- Discipline Disobedient: Note/mark those disobeying letter’s instruction; avoid associating to shame them, yet warn as brother, not enemy.
- Benediction: Lord of peace give peace always/every way; Lord be with you all.
- Authentic Greeting: Paul’s own handwriting as distinguishing mark in every letter; grace of Lord Jesus be with you all.
Application
- Pray for gospel’s spread/protection; follow hardworking example, avoid idleness; discipline disobedient lovingly; receive Lord’s peace/grace while awaiting Him.
