Audio Summary
2 Corinthians 5:12-21
Context
- New day/week/month/quarter prompts renewed thinking; new wine needs new wineskins (perspectives) to avoid loss.
- Paul confronts Corinthians’ wounds/trauma with comfort, new bodies perspective; false apostles boast outwardly, but Paul focuses on heart, new creation in Christ.
- Christ’s love compels; died for all so live for Him; regard no one from worldly view, as old gone, new come—reconciled, ambassadors appealing return to God.
New Creation and Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:12-21)
- Not Commending Again: Not self-commending but giving reason to boast about Paul inwardly, not outwardly like false apostles.
- Sanity for God: If beside ourselves, for God; if in right mind, for you; Christ’s love compels, as He died for all, all died.
- Live for Christ: He died so those living no longer live for selves but for Him who died and rose.
- New View of People: Regard no one from worldly point; once viewed Christ worldly, no longer; in Christ, new creation—old gone, new here.
- Ministry of Reconciliation: All from God, reconciling through Christ, not counting sins; gave message of reconciliation.
- Ambassadors for Christ: Christ’s ambassadors, God appealing through us: be reconciled to God; Christ made sin for us, so we become God’s righteousness in Him.
Application
- Renew perspectives as new creations; compelled by Christ’s love, live for Him, viewing others anew; embrace reconciliation, ambassadorship, righteousness through His sin-bearing.
