Introduction
In this session. Revelation 21: 1-8, introduces us to the Creation of the new Heavens and new Earth and the new community, which is the wife of Christ. In Genesis chapter 1, we find the same order of creation repeated: Creation of the territories, then creation of Adam and Eve on the sixth day. We will appreciate why God had to do a new Creation by comparing the place of factory resetting principles of electronics.

New Heaven and New Earth
Revelation 21: 1-8
Audio Summary
Revelation 21:1-8
Context
- Revelation 21:1-8 follows the millennium and the final defeat of Satan, focusing on the new creation—new heaven, new earth, and new humanity—where God remains unchanging, yesterday, today, and forever.
- The old creation, marred by sin, is destroyed by fire, as described in chapter 20 and by Peter, making way for God’s total renewal.
The New Creation and God’s Presence (Revelation 21:1-8)
- Need for New Creation: Speaker 1 explains why the old creation—earth, heavens, humanity—must be recreated. Sin persists even in the millennium, despite Satan’s absence, showing the problem lies within creation itself, not just the devil or false teachers.
- Factory Reset Analogy: Likens the world to a phone bogged down by downloaded “viruses” and programs misaligned with the manufacturer’s design. A mere reset isn’t enough; God must create a new heaven and earth, as the old one melts away by fire, per Peter’s words.
- New Heaven and Earth: The old heaven, earth, and sea disappear, melted by fire, never to be remembered. God introduces a new creation, distinct from the unchanging “heavens of heavens” where He dwells.
- New Jerusalem Descends: The holy city, New Jerusalem, comes down from God, like a bride dressed for her husband. Speaker 1 notes the shift: rather than us going to heaven, heaven extends to earth, uniting both as one, with God’s throne present.
- God Dwells with Humanity: A shout from the throne declares God’s home is now among His people. He lives with them, wiping away tears, ending death, sorrow, crying, and pain—making all things new, trustworthy, and true.
- Promise and Judgment: God, the Alpha and Omega, declares “It is finished,” offering the water of life to the victorious, who become His children. Cowards, unbelievers, and the wicked face the second death in the lake of burning sulfur.
- Hope of Renewal: Speaker 1 praises God for this new era, expressing longing to be where God is, walking with Him in a creation free of sorrow and tears.
Application
- Hold fast to God, trusting His trustworthy promise of a new creation; live faithfully, seeking to be with Him, and avoid the fate of the wicked by embracing Jesus.
