Introduction
In this session, Revelation chapter 5: 8-14, we focus in understanding the appropriate responses of worshipping the worthy Lord for opening the seals. Take particular concern of the three songs of praise in this session sung by different heavenly beings. This gives us a window of understanding how our lives will be like forever and ever.
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Appreciated that the church in hostility will be summoned to heaven after witnessing roles here on earth by connecting the words in Rev 1:19 and Rev 4:1.
- Understood the truth about worship of the ONLY worthy God by knowing who he is, knowing what he alone had done, and Knowing Why he did it.
- Appreciated that worship is the only thing a believer can do after knowing the truth about Jesus, the redeemer.
- Understood the main question ❓ on earth about worship and the Only true answer to that question ❓ of being WORTHY by listing who Jesus is and what He has done for Us.
- Appreciated the revelation of the scroll by listing what it contained. (Scroll was the book of the redemption of the earth and those contained on earth).

Connecting
- Gather with two or more people for a community discovery bible study session.
- Start with a heartfelt prayer, inviting God to guide and bless your understanding.
- Explore the passage by reading it at least twice, using different Bible versions if available, then retell the story together as a group.
- Reflect and share the challenges and blessings you experienced from the previous study.
Comprehending
- What is worship? What is the connection between praise and worship? Why do we worship? How do we worship? What happened when the Lamb took the scroll, ready to open it? Verse 8.
- Read Rev 5: 9-10. What was their new song of praise? Discuss WHY Jesus is the ONLY worthy person to open the seals of the scroll 📜?
- What is the only appropriate response, or thing to do for every creation, when you know that Jesus is the only one worthy to open the seals of the scroll? Read Rev 5: 11-14. Describe the words of the two songs in verses 12 and 14?
- Take some time to praise and worship Jesus in your form for he is the only one worthy

- List three lessons you have learnt as an agent of change that you would like to put into practice and teach others about.
- Take time and worship Jesus with the attributes revealed about Christ.

- Worship by Creatures and Elders (Revelation 5:8-10):
- When Jesus, the Lamb, takes the scroll, the four living creatures and 24 elders fall before Him, offering harps and bowls of incense (saints’ prayers), singing a new song (v. 8-9).
- They proclaim His worthiness, slain to redeem people from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation, making them a kingdom and priests to reign on earth (v. 9-10).

- Myriads of angels join, declaring the slain Lamb worthy of power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing (v. 11-12).
- Every creature in heaven, earth, under earth, and sea offers blessing, honor, glory, and dominion to God and the Lamb; the creatures say “Amen,” and elders worship (v. 13-14).
- Mercy unites creation in exalting Jesus’ victory.
- Application:
- Worship Jesus, the worthy Lamb, through every act—singing, serving, giving—as a response to His redemption; live for His glory, anticipating reigning on a renewed earth—mercy fuels eternal praise.
